Donate, Recycle, and Get Rid of Stuff in
Eugene and Springfield, Oregon
People frequently ask me about my preferred donation and recycling centers, so I’ve compiled this list to guide you in making the best choice for yourself. Each person has unique reasons for donating, and supporting the right cause can make the process of tidying up much more rewarding.
The Mission
1542 W 1st Ave, Eugene, OR
Drop off at the Donation Resource Center across from the main office.
Food donations can be dropped off at the kitchen entrance.
M-F 8-4
Your donation reaches people without them having to pay for it.
What they accept:
Food donations (at the kitchen door), clothes and housewares, like new sheets, and new underwear.
Bags of Love
1052 Green Acres Rd, Eugene, OR
Drop off at their warehouse, or bins located around town. Bins listed on their website.
Helps at risk and in-crisis kids and teens.
Your donation is given to kids who need it most at no charge to them.
What they accept:
Like new kids clothes for all ages, coats, books, games, quilts, blankets, stuffed animals.
Hearts for Hospice
444 Main St, Springfield, OR
Small donations, 2-3 grocery bags can be dropped off at the resale store.
Wednesday- Saturday 10-4.
Large donations can be dropped off at the warehouse
177 S 14th St, Springfield, OR
Tuesday 10-1
Thursday 12-3
A non-profit that helps generate funds to provide grants in Lane County for hospice and palliative care, grief counseling, and education about hospice and end of life.
Your donation helps fund several wonderful Grantees listed on their website.
What they accept:
Items are inspected and they like nicer items. Higher quality furniture, gently used clothes and linens. Kitchen items in working condition, dishes, housewares, books, art, collectibles, jewelry and small working clocks or radios. Medical beds in working and clean condition, ice machines, scooter, lifts, recliners, unopened oxygen tubing, braces, unopened medical supplies and oxygen concentrators or Inogens.
Mecca
555 High St, Eugene, OR
Donation hours are Wednesday-Saturday 11-5.
Mecca helps keep art supplies out of the trash and gets them into the hands of our local creatives.
What they accept:
Basically any art supplies. Sewing, painting, gift wrap, scrapbooking, ect.
St Vinnies
14 retail locations throughout Eugene and Springfield

A non-profit that provides direct assistance to our most vulnerable neighbors through your donations.
What they accept:
Basically everything in one way or another.
Goodwill
7 retail locations throughout Eugene and Springfield
Goodwill's mission is to provide vocational opportunities to those with barriers to employment. Ninety cents of every dollar goes towards this mission.
What they accept:
Basically everything.
NextStep ReUSe Store
245 Jackson St, Eugene, OR
Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00
NextStep recycles electronics and provides technology access and training to those in need. They are a volunteer based non profit recycler for Lane County.
What they accept:
Electronics, old computers, toasters, alarm clocks, etc..
Habitat for Humanity
1210 Oak Patch Road, Eugene, OR
Wednesday-Saturday 11-6 and Sunday 11-4
Habitat for humanity resells your item for a fraction of the price and uses the proceeds to build safe affordable shelter and self reliance in local communities and around the world.
What they accept:
Tools, plumbing, HVAC and related, lawn and garden paints and stains, appliances, cabinets and countertops, doors and windows, furniture, flooring, and building materials.
Lane County Garbage and Recycling
15 Transfer stations around town
Glenwood Transfer Station is the one I use.

What they accept for a fee:
Appliances-$22, wood and yard waste-$10 minimum fee and $94.20/ton, mattresses, $depends, propane and helium tanks up to 5 gallons-$4.50 per unit, tires less than 20” rim $4.00, with wheel $5.00, hazardous waste, schedule a drop off and you can get rid of hazardous waste 35 gallons at a time.
Junkluggers of Willamette Valley
Schedule an appointment for pickup.
My friends and I have had good luck with Junkluggers Eugene. Theta is an eco-friendly recycling company that takes the junk away.
